Activities
We are situated in an area rich in its historical past and hugely conscious of its natural heritage and eco-sensitive surroundings.
The Lodge offers a wide range of excursion activities from wine routes, to farm visits for the young and old, historical tours and visits to surrounding game farms, the De Hoop nature reserve, various “fynbos and protea” dune and coastal floral reserves.
Then there are the excellent fishing opportunities in the river & sea and rock & surf. You will find it hard to be bored while staying with us in relative pampered luxury with so much to see and do.
How to get there
From Cape Town +/- 300km to Witsand via the N2 Route:
Take the N2 to George.
Travel through Riviersonderend (166km from Cape Town) and Swellendam (90km from Witsand).
1st Turnoff (R324 - Witsand/Port Beaufort) is gravel road all the way to the lodge.
2nd Turnoff +/- 40km after Swellendam (R322 - Witsand/Port Beaufort) - 3km before Heidelberg, is a tarred road all the way to the lodge.
Turn right off the N2. Drive about 37km to Witsand. Cross the 4-way stop and find the lodge (+/- 22m down) on the bank of the river on your left.
