Cheetah Plains is perfectly situated in the Big 5 Sabi Sands Game Reserve bordering the world famous Kruger National Park. ItÂ’s a luxurious family lodge, relaxed yet intimate.
Cheetah Plains comprises of eight thatched chalets with viewing decks, swimming pool set within a small grove of the Tamboti trees, lounge and bar area at the main building as well as a wellness spa.
The buffet style dining embraces the relaxed atmosphere of the lodge, and makes the most of delicious local fare, giving guests a true taste of South African cuisine.
Dinner is served around a roaring fire in traditional boma style, with the sound of wild animal calls ringing over the dinner chatter. A private dining deck offers a secluded nook for those enjoying an intimate dinner under the African night sky.

AIR TRAVEL
Daily flights are available on SA Airlink , Federal Air and General Air.
Airports are located within easy driving distance to Cheetah Plains, Arathusa approximately a 20 minute drive, Hoedspruit a 1.5 hour drive and Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport 2.5 hour drive.
Road transfers from Hoedspruit airport or Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport can be booked if requested.
ROAD TRAVEL
Recommended self-drive route from Johannesburg:
Depart Johannesburg via the N12 highway and continue to Witbank which then becomes the N4 highway, continue straight, through Middelburg and on towards Belfast. Switch to the R540 to Dullstroom, continue on through Lydenburg, Origstad and through the Strydom tunnel. On approaching Hoedspruit take the R531 to Klaserie, Acornhoek and then follow the signs for Sabi Sand to Gowrie gate. Follow directional signs to the camp. Cheetah Plains is approximately 12 km from Gowrie Gate.
Recommended self-drive route from Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport:
Take the R40 to White River, Hazyview, Bushbuck Ridge and Acornhoek. Then follow the signs for Sabi Sand to Gowrie Gate. Follow directional signs to the camp. Cheetah Plains is approximately 12 km from Gowrie Gate. The reserve entrance fee is R110.00 per vehicle and R20.00 per person.
