The camp is situated on the banks of the Auob River on the western boundary of the Park. The camp borders Namibia and is surrounded by thorny Kalahari dune bushveld.
Giraffe, typically adapted to these arid conditions are a favourite sight around Mata-Mata.
The camp has a reception, shop and fuel facilities. Electricity is provided by a generator 18 hrs per day. Phone lines are provided from Namibia.
Mata-Mata is 2½ hours drive from Twee Rivieren.
Facilities at the camp include:
Laundry tubs in camping areas and ironing facilities (no irons)
Hide at a water hole
The camp has limited freezing facilities and cannot provide a freezing service to tourists.
Shop sells commodities that you would find in your local supermarket, including fresh meat, milk, cheese, eggs, bread, wine and beer.
Petrol (premium and unleaded) and diesel at all camps.
Rooms:
2 six-bed family chalets with two bedrooms, bathroom (shower), living room, air-conditioning and fully equipped kitchen.
3 two-bed chalets with communal ablution facilities. The communal kitchen is equipped.
3 park homes/chalavans (two with three beds and one with five beds) with communal ablution facilities. The communal kitchen is equipped.

Entrance to Namibia
The Mata Mata Border has been opened, but only bona fide tourists to the Park can use the access facility between South Africa and Namibia. Tourists are required to stay
over for two nights in one or more of the overnight facilities of the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park.
Tourists from Namibia may make use of the new entrance to Kgalagadi, as a day or overnight visitor access point without checking in with the border officials at Twee Rivieren as long as they return to Namibia. If, however, a tourist leaves the Park to go in to South Africa or Botswana they will have to go to the passport control at Twee Rivieren.

How to get there:
See Map The entrance at Twee Rivieren Gate is situated approximately 260 km north from Upington. All guests intending to travel to Twee Rivieren, be it via Upington or Vanzylrus, must note that the gravel sections on both routes are badly corrugated and travelling at high speed is not advised.
