Nestled in the rolling hills of Zululand lies Ntibane Bushveld Hideaway. Situated in the Hlomo Hlomo (literally Hills Hills) area of Kwazulu Natal, it is an idyllic setting for those who love the African bush and simply want to immerse themselves in its splendour.
A fully equipped stone cottage is your base from which you can view the prolific bird life or simply enjoy a sundowner on the deck as an African sunset illuminates the sky.
Whether it be hiking, mountain biking, enjoying a guided game drive, fishing, bird-watching or simply relaxing under a grove of wild fig trees the focus is on your relaxation.
Your hosts, Graham and Coleen Root, have over 30 years experience of the African bush and will ensure that your stay is an informative as well relaxing experience.
Come and enjoy the call of the wild with the personal touch!

Rooms
There are three self-contained stone cottages which are strategically set around a picturesque dam. Two cottages are situated on the waters edge with the deck extending over it. The other is more secluded with a small stream flowing past it from a nearby weir. All have large sliding doors that open onto a wooden deck with panoramic views of the bush.
Each cottage sleeps two adults and two children with bathrooms en-suite.
Kitchenette area includes stove, microwave, mini fridge and all cutlery and crockery for those who want to cater for themselves.
A fully catered option is also available.

Activities
Fishing
The cottages are set amongst three small dams which all offer good Florida Bass and Tilapia fishing on either conventional or fly fishing tackle. Try your hand at luring one of the 2kg plus Tilapia to your fly and see why they are regarded as one of Africa's hardest fighting freshwater fish!
For the more adventurous angler, try fishing for the endemic Yellowfish or Catfish on the Mkuze river - a real challenge on the fly!
A limited selection of fishing tackle is available for hire.

Hiking or walking
There are numerous hiking trails in the area including some lovely trails through the Ngome State Forest which is one of South Africa's largest endemic forests - a breathtaking sight to behold.
Unguided walks can be taken in safety on the reserve, as there is no dangerous game on the reserve itself. Feel free to stroll off as you please!

Mountain Biking
This is prime mountain biking country for all levels of fitness. A self-guided trail through the reserve takes you over varied terrain and right amongst the fauna and flora.
An ideal way to get up close and personal with the wildlife!
Bikes are available for hire.

Game Drives
Enjoy a guided game drive in one of our Land Rover's and see the bush as you've never seen it before with aid of an experienced game ranger.
Guided or self-guided day trips can be taken to Itala Game Reserve - nobody knows Itala better than your host!
