Musangano lodge

Mutare, Mashonaland, Zimbabwe
 
This is a truly African experience in a peaceful bush setting. Tasteful, spacious accommodation with privacy and superb views.

At Musangano guests find well designed accommodation with an ethnic flair, surrounded by 140 ha of lush miombo woodland.

We took great care to decorate each unit individually to create a homely and appealing atmosphere. Our facilities comprise houses of various sizes for up to 28 guests, which are all spaced apart for maximum privacy.




Rooms
In the fully self-contained lodges (between 90 and 110 sqm) you find:
a large lounge and dining area with fireplace;
a fully equipped kitchen;
2 or 3 separate bedrooms, which sleep between 5 and 7 people;
1 or 2 bathrooms;
a large porch and a separate braai area for barbecue.

The chalets (35 sqm) feature:
a large double room with kitchenette,
desk, fireplace and bay window;
an en-suite bathroom;
a separate dressing area;
a porch and a separate braai area for barbecue.

Activities
Go walking and birding along our marked nature trails with the assistance of a sketch map. You will find marked tree specimen along the trails.
Watch birds from the porch or along the nature trails.
Cool down in the pool, which is surrounded by a large sitting area where guests can enjoy the tranquil atmosphere of Musangano.
Try fishing at the newly established Osborne Dam, which is only a 15 minutes drive away.
Choose between various outdoor games such as volley-ball, table-tennis and badminton.
Let your kids romp around the playground or in the kiddies' pool.
Browse in our library. It offers books for various interests.
Hire a mountain-bike to enjoy the lovely views around Musangano.
Go horse-riding in the Odzi Valley.
For hikers and walkers Mount Mwenji and Mapembi Hills offer an opportunity to enjoy the lovely scenery.
A fine day is ideal for a picnic at the Odzani Falls, where you can cool down in the crystal clear waters.
Visit the "Mutare Museum", which offers a collection of historical and biological objects.

How to get there
Situated 26km before Mutare on the Harare-Mutare tar road and signposted at the km peg 236. From there it is just 1.5 km into Champion Mine Road up to the entrance of Musangano.
