This is the largest restcamp and also the operational and administrative headquarters of the park. The restcamp is situated in the southern part of the park on the bank of the Sabie River.
Historical sites in the camp are the dogs cemetery, bell tower, old pontoon bridge, train bridge, Selati Rail Museum and Campbell Hut Museum. The Stevenson-Hamilton Memorial Library is open to the public.
During school holidays programmes are presented in the environmental education centre and in the evenings film shows are held in the amphitheatre.
Game is abundant in the area and drives along any of the surrounding roads are certain to produce sightings of a wide variety of animals and birds.
AccommodationAccommodation at Skukuza Rest Camp caters to a variety of guest requirements.
All accommodation, ablution and kitchen facilities are serviced by cleaning staff on a daily basis.
Bedding is supplied in all accommodation and cooking utensils and refrigeration are provided in most accommodation units.

RestaurantThe Jackalberry can cater for up to 188 guests and also has an Amarula Lounge, which is furnished with large, comfortable leather couches.
Three decks have been built around the restaurant, which can accommodate up to 120 guests who choose to eat their meals or drink cocktails outdoors. It also has an upgraded Boma and a separate braai area.
The Jackalberry is open from 07h00 to 22h00 and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. It has small buffets offering a large variety of cold and hot foods and the main serving area acts as a 'Theatre of Food' where guests can watch the food being cooked.

How to get there:
See Map The N12 from Johannesburg and the N4 from Pretoria take you on a 5-hour drive through Nelspruit to Skukuza.
Paul Kruger Gate and Phabeni Gate are the two options for travel to Skukuza.
Regulations when Exiting the Park:
In order to improve overall controls some changes have been made to the check-out process at camps in the Kruger National Park and your assistance and co-operation is kindly requested in this regard.
Guests are reminded that only guests with
valid exit permits will be allowed to exit the park. For day visitors these are issued upon entry at gates and for overnight guests these are issued by the last camp on the guest itinerary.
