Situated in the midst of the magnificent Southern Drakensberg, Drakensberg Gardens Golf and Leisure Resort is conveniently located on a scenic 860-acre estate.
The resort has recently undergone a number of exciting changes, bringing about a brand new experience to be enjoyed by the whole family.
Guests can enjoy the magnificent views and sunny terrace of the new main building which hosts a variety of dining and entertainment options.
The Eagles Roost Restaurant provides delicious meals, buffet style and incorporates a welcoming fireplace for those cold winter nights. The Bistro caters for lighter meals and leads out onto the Terrace where guests can enjoy those beautiful sunny days.
Other dining areas on the resort are the Berg View Restaurant, offering a la carte dining, and the Glengarry Golf Club which offers light pub lunches and is ideal for the avid golfers on their way around the 18 hole golf course.
The Peacock Lounge is the ideal place for guests to relax and unwind and enjoy the magnificent views of the surrounding valley and mountains, including the magnificent Rhino Horn Peak.
Guests can enjoy a game of pool or darts in the Wildcat Bar, designed for the young at heart. With its big screen TV, it is the ideal venue to view all the major sporting events.

Rooms are spacious and comfortable, offering a choice of contemporary rooms or thatched bungalows.
All rooms have a private bathroom, television, telephone, heaters and tea/coffee making facilities.
Activities:
To keep the children entertained, there is a games room which offers a variety of activities. The Entertainment Manager is also on hand with plenty of activities and ideas to help the family enjoy a fun filled holiday.
A variety of recreational activities are on offer, such as tennis, bowls, volleyball, badminton, fishing, horse riding and squash.
There is also access to spectacular walks and hikes the most strenuous being a nine-hour hike up the Rhino Horn peak, 3000 metres above sea level.
Alternatively, enjoy a relaxing day next to one of the sparkling swimming pools, where light lunches are served.
Guests can enjoy a game of golf at The Glengarry Country Club, which is the only 18-hole golf course in the area and overlooks the picturesque Lake KwaNyoni with the beautiful mountains as a backdrop.
For the less adventurous, there is also a 9 hole pitch and putt and a 27 hole putt-putt course.
How to get there:
See Map From Johannesburg:
Take N3 to Durban, go all the way, pass Howick about 4km after Howick you will see the Southern Drakensberg (brown board) R617 turnoff, take this turnoff, go over the highway and proceed straight towards Bulwer R617.
You are now on route R617 towards Boston, Bulwer, Underburg - carry on straight all the way, go through the main road of Underberg (still straight) and about 4km after you pass through Underberg you will see the turnoff right to Drakensberg Gardens Golf and Leisure Resort it is also marked "The Southern Drakensberg".
You are now heading on exatly 29 km of our newly tarred road at the end of which is the Drakensberg Gardens Golf & Leisure Resort.
From Durban:
Take the N3 past Pietermaritzburg.
Just before you reach Howick you will see an off ramp to the left marked the Southern Drakensberg R617 take this off ramp.
Follow the signs to Bulwer on the R617 carry on through Bulwer on the R617 to Underberg.
Go on for another +- 4km until you see a large signboard indicating a right turn to the Drakensberg Gardens Hotel. This will put you on our newly tarred road.
Travel on this for 29 km and at the end is the Drakensberg Gardens Golf & Leisure Resort.
