Kings Pool Camp is located in the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve, bordering on the western boundary of Chobe National Park in Northern Botswana. The reserve consists of 125,000 hectares of unspoiled wilderness.
Most of the area is characterised by open grassland, riverine forest, mixed terminalia woodland and the dry Savuti Channel.
The camp overlooks the oxbow-shaped Kings Pool Lagoon and the Linyanti River to the north.
Activities The private reserve borders on Chobe National Park, but the activities here are not limited to the rules and regulations of Chobe.
We can therefore include game drives in open 4x4 Land Rovers, night drives, boat safaris (water levels permitting) and guided walks.
Wildlife The area has a large wildlife resource with a wide variety of species, but it is most noted for its very large Elephant populations, which can reach enormous densities during our winter months.
There are good populations of Impala, Lechwe, Kudu, Zebra, Giraffe, Sable, Waterbuck, Buffalo and the smaller plains antelope.
The major predators such as Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Wild Dog and Hyena are regularly sighted. The reed and papyrus swamps are ideal for numerous and diverse species of birds and are a magnet for game in the dry winter months.
Accommodation Accommodation is in 9 luxurious twin bedded tented rooms under cool thatch overlooking the Hippo filled lagoon in front of the camp.
Each of the new bedrooms has its own large bedroom area, lounge, private plunge pool and sala. Each en suite bathroom has a shower, hand basin and a separate flush toilet.
There is an outdoor shower too for those who prefer to be closer to Africa.
The main lounge, pub and dining room are under thatch, and there is a swimming pool built into the deck. The main area is linked to the bedrooms by a raised walkway.
Safaris The camp can only be reached by light aircraft and should you be intersted in experiencing the camp, you'll have to consider one of the different safari options - which includes it in the itinerary.
The choice of safaris includes: Three Day Fly-In to Linyanti Reserve Five Day Fly-In to Okavango & Linyanti
A minimum stay of 2 nights at a camp is recommended. The camp is reached by light aircraft only and visitors can start or end their safari in Maun or Kasane (Botswana). Departures are daily.
Prices vary according to where you start and finish your safari.
Your safari can be customised to include another camp offering a different habitat and different activities.
