For the traveller wishing to break the journey midway between Johannesburg/Durban and the Southern Cape and gain real refreshment from an overnight stay, or for the tourist in search of the true soul of the Karoo, "The Glen" is the near perfect solution.
Styled "a Karoo farm Bed & Breakfast", The Glen is a haven ( a guest cottage sleeping six to eight, self catering or catered for, or two guest rooms with private bathroom in main farm house), an oasis where making full use of the pool and garden is almost expected. Where meals can be enjoyed in true Karoo farm style. Where the air is as clear as crystal.
A recommended stay is two nights. The first to re-energise from the journey and to spend the next day exploring the nearby community of Nieu Bethesda and the world-famous Owl House, immortalised in Athol Fugard`s "Road to Mecca".
A short distance east of The Glen is the National Mountain Zebra Park, and 37 Km south is the historic town of Graaff-Reinet, Gem of the Karoo. Explore the town and then continue on to the Valley of Desolation.
Then return to The Glen for a second night to gaze into the clearest night skies in Africa and experiance the peace of true silence.

Cottage sleeps 6-8 and has one double bedroom, two twin bedrooms and a kids room with bunk beds and cot. there are two bathrooms in cottage , which is also fully equipped for self-catering. Tourism Grading Council 3-star graded, and AA Highly Reccommended

Swimming pool and farm walks. Birds are plentiful.

Adjacent to N9, 37 Km North of Graaff-Reinet and 70 Km South of Middelburg EC.
Easy access. no gravel roads.
Health & Climate
Warm to hot in summer. Cool to cold in winter. Log fires available. Mostly beautiful clear nights for magnificent star gazing.
