Smithfield House offers charm, comfort and hospitality in a secluded position on the edge of town.
It is a fine example of a grand, Victorian Colonial house with high ceilings, old fireplaces, elegantly furnished with antiques, and set in a beautiful, old established garden with wonderful birdlife.
It is the ideal stop over between most parts of South Africa and is a wonderfully relaxing place to rest for a few days.
Guests have the use of a tennis court, dam and swimming pool. Hiking, horse riding, biking, golf, bowls, fishing as well as visits to local game reserves and hunting can be arranged.
Breakfasts are served on the wide veranda in summer or in the cosy dining room in winter. Lunches and dinners by prior arrangement. Excellent restaurant nearby.
Please note no children under 12 years old.
