Adley House

Grading: Average Guest Rating:

Built in 1905 by Sidney Herbert Adley during the "Ostrich Feather Boom" this magnificent Victorian home was bequeathed in 1948 to the orphans of the Second World War.

Mr/s Macmoran tended 16 Polish orphans until they completed high school in the early sixties. It was then sold.

We bought it in 1989 and undertook the arduous task of restoration - Hilda started a B&B in 1994 which is now a true guest house - a retreat for you to enjoy - in true Victorian style.

Pieter and Hilda Retief with the help of two of their daughters, Heleen and Liza manage Adley House personally.

As true South Africans and residents in Oudtshoorn for over thirty years, they are able to, not only give you a warm welcome and real South African hospitality, but also answer all the questions you may have.

Enjoy and relax in our two swimming pools to cool you down on our lovely hot summer and winter days. Log fires in winter.

Enjoy our evergreen, well-kept gardens and park in safety,
in-house, on our large property of 5000 square meters.
