Set on the banks of the Kwando River, within the Mudumu National Park, Lianshulu has earned the reputation of being the finest lodge in the eastern Caprivi and is considered by many to be one of the few lodges in Namibia to offer a true African wilderness experience.
Lianshulu Lodge lies beneath a canopy of shady jackal berry and Mangosteen trees, in dry and sweltering Mopane woodlands. Lianshulu's exciting activities range from morning walks to view game / birds, to boat excursions and sunset cruises on the Kwando River.
Individually styled and tastefully furnished, Lianshulu Lodge luxuriously accommodates a maximum of 24 guests in 12 chalets
The area is a lush wilderness of riverine forest, marshes and open woodland, in stark contrast to the rest of arid Namibia.
The main building of Lianshulu Lodge comprises of an expansive lounge and dining area, curio shop and a thached bar area. The bar areas open onto spacious and handcrafted wooden decks, affording uninterrupted views over the Kwando River and its flood plains.
Abundant game and birds can often be observed from these vantage points.
Enjoy the fireplace, comprehensive wildlife reference library, curio corner and swimming pool.
Every evening a roaring fire is lit, and a swimming pool and extensive wildlife library will complement your stay at Lianshulu Lodge.
Rooms Lianshulu Lodge lavishly accommodates in 12 brick-and-thatch chalets, constructed of locally sourced materials.
All rooms have a dressing area adjacent to the main bedroom, which opens out on to wooden verandahs and a splendid view over the Kwando River.
Lianshulu Lodge chalets have en suite bathrooms with walk in showers.
Two secluded 'honeymoon suites'have baths as well as capacious walk in showers.
Generous spacing between units ensures complete privacy.
Activities Time at Lianslulu is divided between nature drives in open vehicles, boating on the Kwando River and guided nature walks. About 400 species of birds have been recorded and most typical savanna and woodland game species occur in the area.
Enjoy bird watching, boat excursions and sunset cruises.
Take pleasure in morning walks in the park to view game.
In 4x4 vehicles, enjoy nature drives in the Mudumu National Park.
Optional activities are river excursions, drives, guided walks.
How to get there See Map Lianshulu Lodge lies on the banks of the Kwando River, 150km west of Katima Mulilo, and 45km south of Kongola.
The lodge is situated on a private concession within the 850 square km Mudumu National Park and lies just 55 km north of the Mamile National Park in the Linyanti swamps.
