Irene Country Lodge is centrally located between Johannesburg and Pretoria. With its breath-taking lake views, rolling grass lawns and shady oak trees, ample birdlife and a historically rich surrounding - the lodge offers an unforgettable experience to all its GUESTS.

We love kids and welcome all ages, they stay free when sharing with an adult.

A baby sitting service is available at an additional hourly rate. A baby changing/feeding room is located in the reception area. Over weekends and on public holidays between 8:30 and 16:30 our child minder will look after your children while you relax by the lakeside.

A set of binoculars as well as a list of bird species present at our lake is availabe from reception.

Restore body and mind by exploring the Hennops River hiking trail or the variety of wildlife in the Zwartkops Nature Reserve. The Irene area offers excellent golfing opportunities, with two adjacent 18 hole golf courses, and is in close proximity to the Centurion Cricket Stadium where international cricket matches are regularly hosted.

Other activities in the area include tennis, squash and a gymnasium. Shopping centers in the area include Southdowns, Irene Village Mall and Centurion Mall.

Accommodation
All 74 en suite rooms (4 suites and 71 double or twin rooms) have been gracefully designed in variations of English Country Manor style. Rooms that epitomize good taste with stately wooden furniture and rich fabrics.

All facing onto the lake, combined with modern day creature comforts such as 24 hour room service, wireless internet access, direct telephone dialing, DSTV satellite television, mini bars, 16 Hour restaurant services plus an unmatched environment, where one finds oneself surrounded by many species of birds and not forgetting our herds of cows.

Irene Country Lodge has added 25 newly built rooms to its current 49. The rooms were carefully and stylishly decorated by experienced interior decorator Michele Fortune.

The rooms were decorated with a classical stylish feel including lots of fun elements that reflect South Africa’s uniqueness. Incorporating a theme that would reflect the ambiance of the local dairy farm and Irene area, some local décor accessories were used in the rooms with furniture pieces that were made to suit the style of the lodge - all stylish crafted in an African mahogany wood.

The 15 rooms in the forest are charmingly nestled amongst the trees, with colour schemes in browns, oranges and greens. The spacious rooms are tranquil and cool, and filled with leather, pewter and wood, emphasised by the natural light pouring inside through the sky windows. These rooms were purposely designed to create the feeling of being inside the forest. The rooms are open for bookings and are proving very popular with our guests.

Cuisine
The Meadow Green Restaurant boasts exquisite culinary creations carefully prepared by some of the country's finest chefs with buffet lunches available on Sundays.

Lakeside Country Kitchen serves an a la carte light meal and snack menu available from 9 am daily with buffet lunches available on Saturdays and Sundays.

After lunch guests can enjoy a leisurely stroll down one of the country lanes and return to a traditional afternoon tea at the lakeside or Gazebo.

Sundowners at the gazebo, bathed in gentle sunlight, lend a tranquil touch to the already magical surroundings.

In the shade of our oak trees, you can relax and enjoy the serenity of the lake and birdlife, the perfect backdrop for a relaxing picnic experience.

Conferencing

From Johannesburg Int. Airport:
· Take the R21 from Johannesburg International Airport towards Pretoria
· Take the M31 Off-ramp onto Nellmapius Drive, Irene
· At the stop street, turn left onto Nellmapius Drive
· Carry on with Nellmapius Drive, under a bridge to a 4-way Stop Street
· Go over the Stop Street and carry on towards a traffic circle, Irene Dairy will be on your left-hand side
· Carry on straight; Irene Country Lodge is approximately 50m on the right hand side after the traffic circle.
