Elephants Drift Main Camp is charming and rustic and is situated on a riverbed under huge shady trees. After good summer rains the small dam on which the camp is situated pushes water up to the edge of the outdoor living area
The picturesque Parrot Tree Tented Camp is situated in one of the more remote and most beautiful parts of our wilderness property. It consists of three two person walk-in tents, one Meru safari tent, a kitchen and outdoor living area under the trees. All are on decks on the edge of a cliff overlooking a magical riverbed and waterhole.
The propertys longest boundary is with the Kruger National Park. Animals roam freely across this entire unfenced area, effectively making Elephants Drift part of one of the greatest wildlife sanctuaries in the world.
The area borders on the mighty Olifants River which is a magnet to wildlife in the dry winter months and the Klaserie River is also nearby. The wilderness is crossed by a number of beautiful dry river beds which flow as torrents during most rainy seasons and (when dry!) are ideal shady routes for walking safaris.
Hills, ridges and koppies (small rocky outcrops) are also a feature of the wilderness; these provide panoramic views, picnic and sundowner sites and are often good vantage points for spotting game to be approached more closely on foot or vehicle.
Rooms:

An option is also to do a days walking safari to Parrot Tree Tented Camp through the wilderness hills and along the riverbeds. You can spend a night or two here and then walk back to Main Camp. Your personal belongings will be transported by vehicle.
Activities:
Unlike many game lodges, at Elephants Drift we do both game drives and walking safaris depending on your preference. Both are conducted under the careful (armed) supervision of Manager and Guide, Brad Black.
Brad has 10 years of guiding and lodge management experience throughout southern Africa and is an accredited FGASA (Field Guides Association of South Africa) Trails Guide.
Children under the age of 16 years are not allowed to walk in the bush. During walks they will either be taken on a game drive or will remain at the camp under adult supervision.
