Ezulwini Game Lodge is situated in the beautiful Hluhluwe area, where towering pale yellow fever trees and Sand Forest dominate the landscape.
The Lodge is situated in the indigenous Coastal Sandforest area directly bordering the Greater St. Lucia Wetland Park and a rich variety of bird and animal life are offered to visitors through game drives, at day or night, in open 4x4 vehicles.
A winding bush road leads to well equipped self-catering chalets, discreetly sited beneath a canopy of refreshing woodland.
Visitors to Ezulwini Game Lodge have a variety of options to fill their days, including game viewing and birdwatching within our own reserve in open 4 x 4 vehicles where the scarce suni (Livingstone’s antelope) and red duiker vie with African Broad Bill, Pinkthroated Twinspot and the beautiful Narina Trogen as prime species.
Early morning or late evening walks are rewarding experiences, with the chance to get unusually close to game, maybe even seeing a bushbaby that only makes its presence known by a raucous night cry.
Visits to nearby internationally famous KwaZulu game reserves, cultural venues, fossil beds and other bird watching areas are available by prior arrangement in 4 x 4 open vehicle tours. Fishing can also be enjoyed in the nearby Lake St Lucia’s False Bay Park.
Zululand offers a glimpse of the imperial world of the Zulu. The nearby Lake St Lucia and Sodwana Bay offer scuba-diving on the world’s southern-most coral reefs, aerial whale shark watching, as well as deep sea fishing. Alternatively, slip silently past prolific birdlife while river cruising down freshwater lakes and floodplains.
Facilities include: * Aircon in rooms * Swimming pool * TV and telephone on premises * Restaurant facilities * Conference facilities for up to 30 persons
Log Cabins & Self Catering Units Comfortable overnight facilities are available at Ezulwini Lodge, and there are choices of accommodation between tree-houses, log-cabins and cottages each with its own fully equipped kitchen and bathroom or two-person rooms each with its own bathroom.
Each self catering unit has its own fully equipped kitchen.
Each brightly decorated chalet is comfortably stocked for all your needs, including a braai area where guests can relax around a crackling fire accompanied by the sounds of bush nightlife.
Although the chalets are relatively close to one another, they are private and secluded.
How to get there: Travel to Hluhluwe.
From the N2, take the Hluhluwe off-ramp.
You must follow the signs toward Sodwana Bay/False Bay Park.
Drive through the village and turn left at the fourth circle (you should see Allan’s Butchery in front of you before turning).
After ± 1.6km on this road, turn right over the railway line into Sodwana Bay Road.
After approximately 6km, turn right into False Bay Park Road.
Proceed towards False Bay until on your right side you'll find the entrance gate to Ezulwini Lodge.

The accommodation was comfortable, although we felt that as a self catering unit the utensils were a little lacking, i.e. no knives, breadboard, coffee mugs, only one small rusty frying pan.
