Vila Do Paraiso

Vilanculos in Mozambique is nestled along the coastline of the warm clear blue waters of the Indian Ocean and is situated about 800km north of Mozambique’s capital city, Maputo.

After just a two hour flight from Johannesburg, you can find yourself walking along beautiful, white sandy beaches with palm trees swaying gently in the warm sunny breeze. Feast your eyes on the unspoiled landscape as far as the eye can see.

Our magnificent sunsets make for perfect romantic strolls and dinners beneath star studded skies. Vila do Paraiso promises you experiences that are uniquely yours to enjoy.

Accommodation
You will have a domestic helper, who will cater to your needs for the time you are here.

Each of our houses has 4 bedrooms (sleeps 8 with space for 2 extra children), which are fully air conditioned, with bathrooms en-suite. The open plan kitchen and living area leads out onto a deck which overlooks the beautiful Indian Ocean.

Each house has its own private plunge pool on the deck, great to relax in after a day on the beach - or anytime!

The houses are fully equipped with cutlery, crockery and linen and a small safe is available to store your valuables.

Feel free to take a stroll through our lush gardens or down the walkway to the beach, which is right on our doorstep!

Facilities
If requested when making your booking, we will pre purchase anything you require, including beers and cold drinks (depending on availability).

There is a supermarket in town where you can purchase necessities, but any luxury items should be brought with you. Your butler (house boy) will gladly purchase fresh fruit and bread (pao) daily.

When going to the market, please be aware of your valuables as there is a lot of petty thievery from tourists.

Certain items such as peaceful sleep, soap, toilet paper, can be purchased through the reception.

Money can be changed at the bank. Accepted currency includes Euros, Dollars and Rands. Currency can also be exchanged through the manager at reception.

Vila do Paraiso owns a 4x4 bus, which is available should you need to go anywhere and do not have a vehicle. Please arrange trips at the office in good time.

Vila Do Paraiso, Mahaque Beach, Vilanculos.

Vilanculos is accessible by road. The road is fair, with a particularly bad stretch after Maxixe which lasts for about 80km. It is not advisable to drive the National Road after dark.

The border posts are open every day, with the hours varying in and out of season. Generally, they are open 24 hours in December and until 22h00 during other high season periods.

Should you prefer to fly, Pelican Air flies in to Vilanculos from Oliver Thambo Airport daily. Flights are available from Lanseria Airport twice weekly. Airport transfers will be arranged for you to the lodge once you arrive.
