Built in a secluded gorge, overlooking waterfalls and natural pools, Iwamanzi is the place to go for a relaxing breakaway. With four star accomodation, exquisite cuisine and welcoming staff. Iwamanzi awaits you.

The area is habitat to many different antelope, sable, nyala, bushbuck, waterbuck, eland, kudu, impala, red hartebeest, blesbuck, steenbuck, and other species like warthog, zebra, giraffe, blue wildebeest, brown hyena, hippo, rhino, leopard and 250 different bird species.

Iwamanzi has 12 big dams and the river, all with carp, bass, golden trout, brown trout and rainbow trout, a challenge for any addicted angler or a newcomer. We offer game drives and bush walks.

5 Private chalets with own private wooden deck, ensuite bathroom with bath and shower, mini bar, tea & coffee. One family room. Tasty meals are prepared by our chef in an Italian and South African way. Good South African wines are also available. Welcome drinks on arrival.

Iwamanzi Game Lodge is situated in the North West Province, less than 2 hours drive from Johannesburg and Pretoria, between Rustenburg and Koster R509, in the heart of the North West Province.

How to get there:


From the O.R. Tambo Airport:
Drive out of the airport and follow Johannesburg/Pretoria signs R 24.
After 10 minutes you have to choose and you take the half a circle to Pretoria (the two other choices are to Johannesburg straight, and to Durban/Germiston), take the middle choice to Pretoria N1.
Once on the N1 you follow the signs to Roodepoort/Bloemfontein.
From the N1 you turn of at 14th avenue.
Right at traffic lights and 2nd right again onto the Hendrick Potgieter.
Straight until traffic lights at Krugersdorp (where N14 comes in)
Go straight over the intersection in the direction of Magaliesburg/Ventersdorp.
At T-junction turn right in direction of Maropeng.
Take Maropeng turn of to the left. Pass Maropeng until fourway stop.
Turn right at fourways stop in the direction of Magaliesburg.
In Magaliesburg you drive through the dip over the railway line until R 509 Koster sign.
Turn left to Koster on the R 509. From here it is approx 60km, around 40 minutes drive.
Stay on this same road until you get to Derby, pass Derby straight on towards Koster approx. 12 km.
Just before Koster you will find our signs Iwamanzi Game Lodge – Waterval road.
Turn right at the sand road, cross the railway line and go for another 6km sand road.
You will find our gate on the left hand side. The first gate you can open yourself by hand, The second gate is a fancy thatched electronic gate.

Must be one of the top lodges in the country if not number 1. We had a breath taking experience. The food is out of this world; never seen anything like that before. Unbelievable.
