Game viewing can be done at several Game Farms around Welkom. Boskoppie Lion farm is nearby. Phakisa Raceway is about 11 Km from Mantovani.
We gave over 200 Species of birds to view in the area.
Beautiful skies to glide in and take photographs.

Centrally situated for day trips around the Free State.

Flamingos in their natural habitat can be viewed. One of only two towns in South Africa where these birds breed naturally is Welkom.

How to get there:

From Johannesburg or Durban:
Enter Welkom via the Koppie Alleen road. There will be two traffic lights. First at Mothusi Road. The next at Power Road.
Drive straight through till the first traffic circle

A Shell garage will be on your right hand. In this circle you go 75 % around circle
Keep in the right lane (inside of circle) and pass to the left after you are out of circle.
Drive straight till the next circle (Engen Junction) Drive straight ahead.

Keep in the inside lane. You are now in Tempest road.
Drive straight till the next circle.
At the Yield sign, again drive straight ahead.

Cross the bridge. ENgen garage will be on your left side. Keep in inner lane of circle and go 75% around the circle. Church will be on your right hand side. You are now 800 meter away from Mantovani on the left side of the road. Drive straight and look for Mantovani on the left. Press the bell at the gate and we will welcome you home at No 6 Volks Road.

From N1 Cape Town / Bloemfontein:
There are two entrances to Welkom. Pass the first entrance. Turn right into the Sateway entrance and try to keep in the Left Lane.
Drive Straight for km. You will find two roads to your left. Do not take the first turnoff, Lindsay road.

The second turnoff is Milner Road. Turn left here.
On your left side you will see two Churches. At the second church turn right into Volksroad.
Drive round the island and turn right to Mantovani - at No 6

Winter time is form June to August.
Summer time the rest of the year although it can be chilly at night in the sring and fall.
