Lethabo Estate

Lethabo means “Joy,” and you will find yourself filled with joy from the moment you arrive. We are a uniquely South African, green, and sustainable establishment, serving gourmet organic produce and producing electricity in an environmentally friendly way.

We have four very different types of accommodation for which we were awarded the Gold at the 2010 Roodepoort Chamber of Commerce and Industry Business of The Year Awards as well we being finalists in the 2011 SA tours Welcome Awards.

Our accommodation ranges from a gorgeous thatched boudoir with a tree house feel, to an absolutely private stone cottage on a beautiful wild stretch of the Crocodile River to a spacious four bedroom house with private pool and its own kitchen to guesthouse rooms at our farmhouse and in our Stables Cottage.

All rooms are individually uniquely decorated, most with Persian carpets, four poster beds, antique furniture, and fireplaces. We serve exquisite cuisine in our restaurant overlooking the river, and also offer private decadent picnics.

In line with our Green and of EskomÂ’s grid approach, Die Izindala (meaning recycled things in Zulu) Farmhouse has been furnished using recycled and loved things. This old colonial style Farmhouse is elegant and enchanting.

The treatments rendered by Sarah, The Spa manager, are superb. She uses Matsimela Spa products, made by our neighbours as we actively support local business in line with our mission of sustainability, in addition to natural oils and products beneficial to the skin.

Directions From Randburg
Take Hans Strijdom Drive north towards Lanseria Airport & Hartebeespoort Dam. Hans Strijdom becomes the R 512.
Proceed crossing over the Roodepoort/Germiston concrete highway, through Kya Sands and cross over the Krugersdorp/ Polokwane (Pietersburg highway)
Pass the Hertford Hotel and garage going straight until the stop street - right hand is Lanseria Centre.

Continue straight from the stop street for 5 km's to reach an Engen Garage and Rhenosterspruit Shopping Centre.
About 200 m before the Engen garage you will turn right onto a dirt road. There is a small government signboard just as you turn off on the left and our green and gold Lethabo signboard on the right.
Continue slowly on the dirt road for 2.5 km's.

Turn first right at the green wall, sign posted, 'Lethabo', continue to the first gate signposted 'Lethabo'
