Nullarbor Cottages

The Nullarbor Cottages are nestled in the rocky arms of the Magaliesburg Mountains on a private farm and provide an ideal country getaway.

We are situated approximately 4km from the quaint village of Magaliesberg (2km of sand road) on the Rustenburg Road (R24) with views created for connoisseurs. Only 1 hour from Johannesburg and Pretoria, 30 min from Hartebeespoort Dam and Rustenburg. We are close to the Cradle of Humankind and Maropeng and are ideally siguated to explore the Magaliesburg Area.

Accommodation
The venue comprises 9 beautifully equipped timber/brick cottages, 8 of which have separate bedroom/lounge areas and 1 bed-sitter. These units are ideal for 2 adults sharing.

Each cottage has double bed, own bathroom, patio, private braai area, DSTV, fully fitted kitchen, including microwave, fridge freezer and all necessary equipment for self-catering purposes.

All of the cottages have open log fireplaces and 7 have Corner Jacuzzi spa baths.

Three swimming pools are available - easily accessible to all.

Child Policy: We can accommodate children age 12 & older, provided that they are willing to share the unit. Normal adult rates apply. Children 11 years or younger cannot be accommodated.

STANDARD COTTAGES

These cottages do not have Corner Jacuzzi spa-baths. Louries Rest has normal bath and Hornbill Lodge has shower only.

Lourie's Rest - Wooden cottage with one bedroom with double bed which sleeps two adults and can also accommodate a teenager in the loft. The cottage has a patio with braai facilities. There is a lounge with open log fireplace, well fitted kitchen and, en-suite bathroom with Victorian ball and claw bath.

Hornbill Lodge - Very private one bedroom with double bed and French doors opening onto patio and braai area with large thatch lapa . Separate lounge with fireplace, separate kitchen and bathroom with shower only.

SEMI-LUXURY COTTAGES

These cottages all have Corner Jacuzzi spa-baths.

Gecko Lodge - One bedroom with double bed and fireplace, separate open plan kitchen and lounge, separate bathroom with corner spa bath. Patio and braai area with thatch lapa

Lizzy Lodge - One Bedroom with double bed and French doors opening onto veranda. Open plan kitchen, lounge with fireplace separate bathroom with corner spa bath, private patio and braai area with thatch lapa

Nebulus Sky - One bedroom with 4 poster double bed and French doors opening onto veranda. Open plan kitchen, lounge with fireplace separate bathroom with corner spa bath, private patio and braai area

Pula Moon - Large Bedsitter with 4 poster queen size bed, open fireplace, French doors opening onto private veranda and braai area. Separate bathroom with corner unit spa bath.

LUXURY COTTAGES

These cottages are substantially larger than the others and all have Corner Jacuzzi spa-baths. Budi Budi and Venue have King size beds and the all have large Flat Screen TV's.

Budi Budi - Large Luxury Cottage with separate bedroom, King size bed and corner spa bath and shower in bedroom. Kitchenette, fireplace in lounge. Separate toilet. Patio with thatch lapa and private braai area

Mali - Luxury Large Double bedroom with 4 poster queen size bed, French doors leading onto veranda. En suite bathroom with corner unit spa bath. Open plan kitchen, lounge with open fireplace. Private patio with thatch lapa and private braai area.

Venus - Large luxury unit of brick construction with one Bedroom, King Size bed. Ensuite bathroom with corner spa bath. French doors opening onto veranda from both the bedroom and the lounge. Open plan kitchen, lounge with open log fireplace. Private patio with thatch lapa and private braai area.

Bring your mountain bike or explore on foot.

Horse Rides can by arranged by appointment at a nearby venue.

For the Ornithologists amongst us - abundant bird life will keep you well entertained.

Other activities include walks into the mountains visiting the attractions of the Magaliesburg Meander or exploring the wonders of the Cradle of Humankind.

We are close to hotels, pubs, shops and wedding venues and restaurants- so eating out is an option.

How to get there:

See Map
Drive through the town of Magaliesburg and take the R24 Rustenburg Road.
Travel 2km until you see a turn on the left hand side "Nullarbor" turn at this intersection. This is a small fairly insignificant paved road.

Cross the railway line and the road becomes sand.
Travel for 2km and follow the signs for 'NULLARBOR COTTAGES'. We are the last property on the road so you cannot get lost.

If you reach the turn for Girls and Boys Town or Lover's Rock you have gone too far - go back.

The temperature in Magaliesburg is slightly warmer than Johannesburg and Pretoria in summer and a lot colder in Winter. Although we provide electric blankets and indoor fireplaces, it is advisable to bring warm winter woolies for the cold evenings.
