     Birds
Of the about 850 bird species recorded in South Africa, about 725 are resident or annual visitors, and 50 of these are endemic or near-endemic.
     Giraffe
Giraffe are semi gregarious animals, and can be found in groups of about 7 or 8 with males attaining a height of about 5,5 meters and weigh about 1500 kg.
     Hippo
Hippopotamus weigh an average of 1700 to 2000 kg with a height of about 1.5m. An adult can consume up to 130kg food a night. Their lifespan is 30 years.
     Whales & Dolphins
Each year Southern Right Whales migrate into the coastal waters of the Western Cape to calve and nurse their young. They are often mere meters from shore.
     Zebra
The Zebra belongs to the horse family and its distinguishing marks are the unique black stripes, akin to the fingerprints on humans.
