Located just outside Kenton-on-Sea, and within easy distance from Grahamstown, midway between Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) and East London. Set in acres of woodland just minutes from unspoilt beaches.

Woodlands Cottages & Camping offers
affordable, family and pet-friendly, self-catering rustic
accommodation in 8 free-standing cottages and 3 guest rooms in the
main house. A variety of layouts allow us to cater for individuals
sharing rooms, couples, small families, and multiple cottages for
those who need space for a large group. We can accommodate up to 50
people. The cottages are tucked away in a lush indigenous garden,
many with access to their own unique and secluded boma bath, making
us ideal for the perfect romantic getaway.
The bush camping area has toilet, shower and washing up facilities for up to 6 pitches with on-site toilets, showers and washing-up facilities.
Additional facilities on-site include a swimming pool, games room (with pool table and table tennis) and a large lounge area with TV and free Wi-Fi. Enjoy the rustic, stress-free environment by relaxing next to the pool, wandering down the path to the river, or at the on-site bar. Spectacular unspoilt beaches, estuaries and rivers are right on the doorstep ready to explore.
Goat Shed Bush Bistro & Bar:
Guests can enjoy a delicious meal or a
drink at the Goat Shed bush bistro & bar which is open Wednesday
to Sunday (12 to 9), and 7 days a week during holidays. Well-known
locally for it’s fish and chips, also offering pizzas baked in our
own pizza oven and a range of burgers, salads and other seasonal
dishes along with a varied selection of wines and spirits.
We want people to enjoy the outdoors, the beach and our beautiful rivers. Take a short 10 minute stroll through our riverine bush to enjoy the peace and tranquility of Bushman’s River, and maybe a spot of fishing. Or enjoy the prolific variety of bird life that surrounds you. Alternatively, enjoy a day at one of the 3 beautiful beaches of Kenton-on-Sea or visit the town for some great shopping which is only 3km away. From Woodlands and nearby you have the option to experience kayaks, paddle boats, river cruises, bush walks and horse riding. We also get good rates from the nearby game reserve called Sibuya for day trips to see the Big 5 and we are 70 km from Addo Elephant Park.
Boma is a 2 sleeper cottage with a king bed that can be split into two single beds if required - just ask at least 24 hours before arrival. The cottage has its own fully-equipped kitchenette, and a bathroom with a shower and a rustic outside boma bath. It also has a private outdoor braai.
The rustic bush camping area has toilet, shower and washing up facilities for up to 6 pitches. No electric hook-ups are available but there is a plug in the kitchen to charge small devices.
Bush is a 2 sleeper cottage with a king bed that can be split into two single beds if required - just ask at least 24 hours before arrival. The cottage has its own fully-equipped kitchenette, and a bathroom with a shower and a rustic outside boma bath. It also has a private outdoor braai.
Family Room 1 is suited to accommodate 6 people, containing 2 bunk beds and 2 single beds. It has access to a shared bathroom with a shower and bath. Guests have access to a fully-equipped communal kitchen in the main house. The main house has a huge lounge and an outdoor area to relax.
Family Room 2 is suited to accommodate 2 adults and 2 kids. It comprises a double bed and a bunk bed with an en-suite bathroom with a toilet and a shower. It benefits from it’s own entrance onto a small patio with views towards the sea. Guests have access to a fully-equipped communal kitchen and lounge area in the main house.
Family Room 3 is suited to accommodate 2 adults and 2 kids. It comprises a double bed and a bunk bed with an en-suite bathroom with a toilet, shower and bath. Guests have access to a fully-equipped communal kitchen in the main house. The main house has a huge lounge and an outdoor area to relax.
Hide-Away Cottage is suited to accommodate 2 adults and 2 kids. This unit has 2 rooms; one kitchen/lounge/diner with a king bed that can be split into two single beds if required - just ask at least 24 hours before arrival - and one with a bunk bed. The cottage has its own fully-equipped kitchen, and a bathroom with a shower and a rustic outside boma bath. It also has a private deck with outdoor braai.
Hornbill is a rustic cottage with 2 separate rooms. Room 1 has a king bed that can be split into two single beds if required - just ask at least 24 hours before arrival, and an en-suite bathroom. Room 2 has two bunk beds, a single bed and a bathroom equipped with a shower and a toilet and bath. The cottage has a large kitchenette, an open plan lounge and a large outdoor braai.
Loerie is a cottage with a king bed, its own fully-equipped kitchenette, a bathroom with a shower and a seating area. It also has a private outdoor braai and a beautiful outside boma bath.
This cottage has 2 bedrooms. The first has a king bed that can be split into two single beds if required - just ask at least 24 hours before arrival - and an en suite bathroom with shower and outside boma bath. The second bedroom has a bunk bed, a single bed, and an en-suite with a shower. A fully-equipped kitchen with a gas stove and hob, a lounge, plenty of deck space and an outside braai area make this the perfect family cottage.
This brick-built unit has two separate rooms. The first has a double bed and two bunk beds with an en-suite shower room. The second room has a double bed, 2 single beds and a bunk bed with an en-suite shower room. The unit has a kitchenette with a fridge, microwave and gas stove, a lounge/dining area and a large outdoor braai.
50% deposit payable on booking.
In the event of notification of cancellation, the following cancellation fee shall apply on the full booking:
- Cancellation less than 30 days prior to arrival - 25% cancellation fee
- Cancellation less than 14 days prior to arrival - 50% cancellation fee
- Cancellation less than 48 hours prior to arrival - 100% cancellation fee
