A truly unique lodge in Northern KwaZulu Natal where the view from the spectacular setting is particularly breathtaking as you gaze out onto Lake Jozini, the Lebombo Mountains and the Pongola Game Reserves. Shayamoya Tiger Fishing and Game Lodge is privately owned with a warm and relaxed atmosphere, where the staff are friendly and efficient. The gateway to KwaZulu Natal, close to the Swaziland border and only 2 km off the N2 Highway, Shayamoya is a perfect overnight stop when travelling from Kruger Park to KwaZulu Natal, or from Maputu to Durban, or Johannesburg to the Northern Coast beach or Southern Mozambique resorts. Or spend a week exploring all the area and Shayamoya have to offer, and bring the whole family!

The area is popular for its game viewing and of course tiger fishing as Lake Jozini is the only water in South Africa that is home to the combative tiger fish but if fishing is not your bag, there are plenty of activities at Shayamoya.

Absorb the stunning view, as you sit on the wide wooden deck at Shayamoya`s central lodge. Below and beyond, for as far as the eye can see, stretch the purple hued Lebombo Mountains, the curves of the Pongola River as it enters the Lake Jozini and the unspoilt bushveld of the Phongolo Nature Reserve.

Facilities at Shayamoya Tiger Fishing and Game Lodge:
Guests gather in the central lodge where they join in the camaraderie and share their happy experiences. Shayamoya offers a fully licensed bar.

The Bundu Pot restaurant treats you to sumptuous meals of South African flavourings. The very popular braais are held outdoors around the blazing fire and the feeling of true Africa reaches every soul.

Refresh with a dip in the swimming pool. The indigenous garden is something to be marvelled at with over 60 species of aloes and interesting succulents. It is in splendid bloom in the Winter months. The curio shop is small but contains Shayamoya and African memorabilia.

We have hosted lovely bush-style weddings and the lodge is an excellent corporate venue catering for small conferences and tailor made company team buildings.

Constructed under the deck of the central lodge, is the earthy wine cellar offering an interesting selecting of wines which is also booked as an exclusive dinner venue for those special romantic occasions.
