Saragossa Game Reserve Activities: Game Drives
We do Game Drives about twice daily, depending on your wishes and the number of guests. Times change with the seasons. The vehicles are open Landrovers. Coffee and rusks are served on morning drives, sundowners and snacks in the evening.
Bush walks usually happen after breakfast or in the early morning before it gets too hot. They aim to discover the little things, like tracks, signs, insects and plants.
You are more than welcome to go fishing in one of our dams. We also have fishing rods available for you at the lodge should you not wish to bring your own. Trout, black bass, catfish and more.
The magnificent Saragossa mountain provides guests with a 4-hour hike to the ridge and an amazing view of Elands Valley.
One of the most spectacular wonders to be seen in South Africa is the night sky, and Saragossa Game Reserve is the ideal location to experience it. Star gazing is done at the top of Saragossa mountain and can also be incorporated on night drives. Although the winter months may be colder, they offer even better viewing as heat and dust are greatly reduced in the atmosphere, making for a clearer sky.
