Just thirty minutes drive northwest of Johannesburg lies the Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve. Set in the beautiful Kromdraai Conservancy, this haven from the hustle and bustle of the city boasts White Rhino, Lion, Buffalo, Hippo and more than twenty other species of game.
All told over 600 head of game will satisfy even the most avid game viewer.
Game drives with experienced guides allow visitors to experience the wildlife close up, and on a night drive the fascinating nocturnal habits of the animals can be observed.
Specially erected enclosures afford visitors the opportunity to view and photograph rare and endangered species such as Cheetah, Wild Dog and the Cape Vulture. The hippo enclosure is situated across the road from the main entrance.
A protected barbeque area allows day visitors to relax and enjoy the game grazing close by. Other facilities include a swimming pool, kiosk, volleyball court and curio shop. And for the adventurous, the pub overlooking the Crocodile pool is a must.
The Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve is an experience not to be missed.
