Old Joe’s Kaia is a unique small family owned and run guesthouse situated in the magnificent Schoemanskloof Valley.
This venue is known for its excellent cuisine, relaxed homely atmosphere and personal service. Offering a swimming pool, prolific birding and exhilarating walks.
Accommodation is offered in Log Cabins, Rondavels and Kaia Rooms. Each of these units has a different theme and is uniquely decorated accordingly. All units have a balcony /verandah and bathroom en suite (bath and shower).
Regrettably no children under the age of 6 are allowed, unless by special arrangement.
These rustic units with a romantic ambience are elevated on stilts and are situated amongst large trees, overlooking the indigenous garden.
Rondavels (thatched huts)
These were the first units built at Old Joe’s Kaia. They are spacious with an organic feel from Africa.
Kaia Rooms (“home” in Zulu)
These are cosy semi-detached private units overlooking the garden towards the swimming pool.
Old Joe’s Kaia has always been well-known for its excellent cuisine and fabulous wines. Our meals are creative yet wholesome with a country flair. Trout from the area is a regular feature, as well as venison and ostrich.
Meals can be enjoyed inside the cosy lounge-dining area or outside on the balcony at tree-top level. The view from the balcony is graced by the mountain in the distance and the lush garden below. Many interesting birds can be observed from here.
Picnic baskets or food packs /backpacks can also be arranged. Advance bookings are essential for Dinner.
