We arrived at the lodge where they were well prepared to receive us. The host, Francois, was outstanding in order to address our requirements, provide information of activities in the area and to let us feel welcome at the lodge. The lodge itself is well maintained and staff were also friendly and helpful. We had outstanding dinner every night prepared by a professional chef. All our needs were catered for and we really enjoyed the time at the lodge. The fact that we interacted with other pleasant guests also enhanced the welcoming atmosphere.

Maqueda Lodge was really a home away from home, from the night we arrived we were welcomed with such worm hearts from the owners son who waited for us since we arrived at 1am Saturday. their breakfast was excellent with a home made juice, wow! we loved it, overall the owners are peoples people and we will definitely visit them again.

If you want to experience true South African hospitality, go and stay here! The owners are very friendly and easy going and the facilities are clean and stylish. We had the best breakfast of our whole trip at the beautiful breakfast table with a view of the bush. It is very quiet and a good place to relax.
