Lupela Lodge is situated in the Witteberg mountain range with spectacular views of the mountains and the river. Wake up every morning to the call of the fish eagles shouting.

The lodge has en-suite bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen for those who want to do self-catering, braai facilities, a little pub and log fires to share all the stories of the day. The cottage will be serviced once a day for catered and self-catering guests.

Here you will become one with nature and the absolute piece and quietness is soul restoring. Lots of activities in the area like hiking trails, birding, fishing for trout and yellow fish, horse riding, rock art art classes, 4x4 trails and many more.

The Silo:
The Silo is a grain silo that was converted into a cottage and is on two levels with an en-suite bedroom upstairs and living area and kitchen below.

Look Out Cottage:
This cottage is a 2 bedroom cottage on the banks of the Karnemelkspruit. This cottage make use of solar lights and gas warm water and cooking. Braai facilities and cleaning service once a day. All bedding and towels provided except swimming towels.

Also available: Braai wood, Lamb, Sausage, Home Baked Bread, Milk, Camping Cot Available.

Activities:

Fishing, Hiking, Birding, 4x4 Trails, Rock Art, Horse riding, Vulture breeding colony, swimming, Relaxing, 8 Mountain passes to ride biking, Off road motorbiking on these 8 mountain passes, fauna and flora of the area.

Clothing and Accessories:

All own mountain bikes, 4x4's and motorbikes.

Health and Climate:

Winters extremely cold with snow falls from light to heavy. Summer thunderstorms may leave you wet if you unprepared.

This cottage is on the river banks and make use of solar lights and gas for cooking and hot water. The cottage has 2 en-suite bedrooms, showers only, running out onto a verandah. Twin beds in both bedrooms. Big verandah overlook the river and mountains

Lupela Cottage
This spacious cottage sleep 10 people with 5 en-suite bedrooms, shower only, fully equipped kitchen, lounge and dining area, pub and outside braai facilities. Beautiful views on the mountains and river. Kitchen: microwave, stove, fridge etc.

Silo Cottage
A renovated old grain silo with an en-suite bedroom upstairs and a kitchenette/lounge at the bottom. Bedroom has a queensize bed and an en-suite bathroom with shower only. Sleeper couch in lounge. Fully equipped with beautiful views on the mountains.

Cancellation Policy:

Booking deposit will not be reimbursed once payed and cancellations with in 7 days guests will still be responsible for paying the full amount.

Directions:

Follow the R58 from Aliwal North to Lady Grey not turning off to Lady Grey you stay on R58 and 17.5km from this turnoff you will get a big sign Lupela Lodge on your Left hand side. At this sign you turn Left and continue for 5.4km The road end at the lodge.
