Koekais Guest Farm
Koekais Guest Farm was built with natural stone from the farm and the roof is thatched to - together with the stone - blend perfectly with the surrounding nature. The farm (in the district of Griekwastad / Griquatown, Northern Cape), is situated 17 kilometer east of Griekwastad on the road to Douglas.

Griekwastad is more or less halfway between Upington and Kimberley on the N8 highway. We are proud to present a beautiful, self-catering guest house with three en-suite double bedrooms to tourists from over the world (accommodation for up to 6 guests). In the front of the house flows a stream for short periods when there is good rainfall in the catchment area. At these times there is also a bustling waterfall which was the main reason for choosing the specific site for the guest house.

The house was finished with excellent quality fittings and furniture. The kitchen is fully equipped with full size stove, oven and fridge with freezer, microwave oven and all the pots, pans, crockery etc. There are added luxuries like a water purifier, all season air conditioner, roof fans in each bedroom as well as the sitting room. The 400 liter heat pump geyser ensures that there will never be a shortage of hot water and the recent addition of Wi-Fi is just another added luxury. The geyser, air conditioner, fridge and bulbs that we use throughout the guest house are graded green and we also participate in recycling of waste.

There is a spacious lapa where one can easily lose track of time while enjoying the fresh air and sounds of surrounding nature. There is a wide variety of wildlife - birds, vervet monkeys, kudu, steenbok, blue duiker, dassies (hyraxes), various rabbit species and other smaller animals like tortoises, meerkat and veld mice. The species less seen but present in the vicinity are cheetah, various fox species, leopard, aardvark, genets (muskeljaatkatte) and baboons.

Surrounding the guest house is a large area where guests can explore and enjoy nature. We are continuously busy with improvements and developments to ensure an exceptional stay for each and every guest. The latest addition to our beautiful guest house is a jungle gym.
