The Knysna Hollow Country Estate
is set amongst timeless oaks and pecan trees on a secluded old country estate near Knysna`s famous lagoon.
The gracious old manor house forms the focal point of the lodge. Built in a bygone era, it is finished with pressed ceilings, yellow wood floors and indigenous furniture.
The Knysna Hollow Restaurant is situated in the Manor House and serves fine food in relaxed and warm surroundings. The scintillating yet refined menu reflects flavours and influences from around the globe, with a selection of dishes sure to stimulate the senses.
Enjoy pre-dinner drinks next to a roaring fire in wintertime or else in the Yellowwood-panelled pub, "The Ruthland Arms". Your Hosts provide Cape hospitality at it`s personal best and will assist in your selection of a fine wine to drink.
Accommodation at Knysna Hollow Country Estate
Accommodation on the Estate consists of 15 Garden Chalets all of which have a spacious open-plan lounge, television, telephone and private patio as well as a fireplace for all those cold romantic winter evenings.
In addition, there are 64 en-suite Garden Rooms also under thatch, with television and tea & coffee making facilities.
The 64 twin-bed Garden Rooms are all well equipped with ceiling fans, tea and coffee facilities, television and hairdryers, as well as covered patios. All rooms are decorated in a fresh, natural style and offer clean and crisp comfort with all modern amenities.
The 15 Garden Chalets offer relaxed open-plan living areas leading onto private bedrooms each with their own patio. Wood-burning fireplaces add atmosphere and warmth in the cooler months – perfect for romantic evenings.
The Garden Chalets are decorated with hand-crafted furniture and are equipped with ceiling fans, tea and coffee facilities, mini-bar fridges, telephones, flat-screen televisions, heated towel rails and Charlotte Rhys guest amenities.

The Rutland Arms Pub is a warm and lively place to enjoy a laid-back beverage and socialise with friends, family and new acquaintances. Sport is screened on satellite televisions, whilst ice-cold local Mitchell’s draught and warm, friendly service make this a special gathering place.
Our three sparking swimming pools are arranged around our expansive grounds, giving guests a choice of sparkling refreshment oases to enjoy, including a kiddies pool for the little people at our unique round swimming pool.
The Knysna Hollow Curio Shop is an intimate boutique where guests can purchase unique, branded, quality clothing and local arts and crafts at great prices. We stock a beautiful range of Knysna Hollow clothing in fleece and cotton – perfect as mementoes of your visit.
Outdoor Games are a special and unique feature at Knysna Hollow. We offer a full-size Pentanque court with a Boulle set, as well as a giant chess board in our Rose Garden for guests to enjoy and while away some leisure time.
Our organic herb garden, complete with compost-producing, organic worm-house is well worth a visit for the greenies or just plain curious.
