Centrally located, a mere 2.5 kms from the town centre, Guadeloupe Self Catering Cottages is situated on a hilltop overlooking the famed Knysna Lagoon.
Situated in a quiet cul de sac where there is no passing traffic is definitely a plus. Its special location gives the visitor the feeling of being in the countryside, with wonderful views onto the Knysna Lagoon.
Accommodation at Guadeloupe Self Catering Cottages
Two fully equipped self catering cottages, as well as four modern, stylish and upmarket apartments also completely equipped for self catering all four apartments and the top cottage look directly down onto the Lagoon.
The apartments : A main mezzanine bedroom upstairs with en suite bathroom ( shower ). The unit consists of three bedrooms or two bedroomed apartments, each with a queen sized bed in them, although the three bedroomed apartment, the TEA ROOM, has two bedrooms with queensized beds in them and the third bedroom has 2 x single beds in it and is ideal for 2 children.
All units including the cottages are fully equipped for self catering, with extras i.e pull-out wash line, heated towel rails, hairdryer, fan , heaters & wall safes, Wi Fi, DSTV and DVD players - stylishly & tastefully decorated with an eye for detail.
Open plan kitchen /lounge areas .Completely fully equipped kitchen - microwave, stove, fridge, toaster, kettle, filter coffee machine etc.All the units have a feeling of light & space, with front double doors opening onto a large private patio with a weber braai & patio furniture.
The apartments are built loft style, i.e the first bedroom is upstairs on a mezzanine floor with large windows which face directly onto the Lagoon. The upstairs bedrooms in each unit have an en suite bathroom with a shower and toilet.
The downstairs bedrooms have a bathroom with a toilet and bath; bathrooms with a bath have pull-out wash lines over the bath, and all bathrooms have heated towel rails for the Winter months.
The units sleep from 2 adults (and 2 children) to 6 adults (or 4 adults and 2 children).
Facilities & Services
* All units, including the two cottages have a balcony with patio furniture and a Weber BBQ on each.
* All the apartment balconies have marvellous views onto the Knysna lagoon.
* All units (including the two cottages), are fully equipped for self catering with hairdryers, fans, heaters, wall safes and filter coffee machines. * Linen and towels are changed regularly and units are serviced daily; except on Sundays and public holidays.
* There is an on-premises laundry service all laundry is left in the bath and is removed by the cleaning staff where it is then washed and/or ironed as requested.
* Safe on-premises parking each unit comes with an automatic gate control.
* Nine metre swimming pool on the premises for use by our guests.
* There is a cookery school on the premises as well ideal for spouses who are abandoned for the golf course spend an entertaining and informative morning in the cookery school, and take an entire meal back with you
* Conference facilities available in the modern well equipped dining area of the cookery school.

WE run a COOKERY SCHOOL on our premises and cook for the public once a week at our famous "you look, we cook" evenings. We also run tailor made classes for spoused who have been abandoned for the golf course.
Our "cook and look" dinners on a Wednesday evening - the format is basically as follows : The guests are charged R220.00 per person for the meal: The guests arrive at 7:00 in the evening - bringing along their own wife and their own wine. No corkage charges at all.
Upon arrival guests are welcomed by our waiters (as we are frantically busy in the kitchen) and given appetizers to nibble on, as well as a "welcome drink" - at the moment a home made Limoncello - to warm them up on a cold Winter's evening, or cool them down on a hot summers evening.
At approximately 7:30 for 7:45 we welcome all our guests to the open-plan kitchen, where we give them a complete run-down about the dinner for the evening. Starters & main courses are prepared in full view of the guests as they congregate around the kitchen area, along with our famous joke telling a bit of Kitchen Theatre. After this guests return to their individual tables, laid up as per customer reservation, and the meal commences with a starter, followed by main course, dessert, coffee/ tea and biscuits to end the meal.
Everything edible is prepared in our kitchen - including the apperitif, as already mentioned.
All in all, it is an evening celebrating food, more food, fun, and of course, the guest's own choice of wines - which are sometimes dodgy, other times magnificent - all depending on individual taste of course!
The atmosphere is a party atmosphere, and the noise level is generally high and festive. Enjoyment of the evening is up to you. We would love to welcome you and look forward to a visit from you and whoever you wish to bring along wife, lover, mother in law.

If coming from George on the National road, turn left up Lloyd Street before the first set of traffic lights into Knysna.
Go up Lloyd Street for about 100 metres, & at the T-junction at the top, follow the signs for "Guadeloupe Self Catering" all the way to the top of the hill & turn left down into Roos Bolton Crescent - we are at the end of the cul de sac in no's. 3 & 5 Roos Bolton Crescent.
