Duck Cottage

If you are looking for tranquillity and beautiful surroundings you need look no further. Duck Cottage is situated on a semi private stretch of the Vaal River just 2 km from Parys.

The river has easy access down our rolling lawns and the jetty area is paved. There is fantastic fresh water fishing, a run flow swimming pool overlooking the river or just relax in our lapa by the river. The river is perfect for canoeing. There is wildlife in the area and an abundance of bird life.

As there are 2 units and 1 house on the property, the lapa and jetty area is shared by all guests. Should you want exclusive use of the jetty and lapa, be sure to book all 3 units, so that you do not have to share with other guests.

Our cottages are owner managed and boast luxury fittings. The units are serviced daily and all ages are welcome.

Accommodation at Duck Cottage:
Lion Cottage
This is a rondavel that accommodates a total of 5 people. There are two bedrooms with double beds. There is a sleeper couch for a single person in the lounge. The kitchenette is fully equipped. There is a bathroom/shower and braai facilities. Fans or heating is provided depending on the weather. TV with DSTV open view is available in Lion Cottage. The unit is serviced daily. WIFI is available in the public areas.

Buffalo Cottage
This is a rondavel that accommodates 2 people. The main room has a double bed and kitchenette. Just off to the side is a bathroom/shower. The kitchenette is fully equipped. There is a bathroom/shower and braai facilities. Fans or heating is provided depending on the weather. The unit is serviced daily. WIFI is available in the public areas.

River House
House on river (cottages are behind the house), large porch overlooking river, darts and pool table, full equipped large kitchen with fridge/freezer, large gas stove and breakfast nook, laundry with washing machine. Main bedroom with queen bed, tv, aircon and bathroom and shower on suite, second bedroom with queen bed, aircon and bathroom on suite, third bedroom with double bed and tv, fourth bedroom with double bed and tv. Full on internet, lounge with aircon, tv and two fireplaces. Covered parking and you would of course have the pool, lapa and fishing area as well.

Directions:
As you enter Parys turn right at first main stop street intersection. That will be Bree Street, follow that around the bend, pass Total Garage until you reach the Potchefstroom R53 sign at main intersection (Parys Motors will be ahead of you) turn right at those lights. There is only one set of traffic lights. From the lights it 1.8kms. Cross over the bridge and you will pass Kopjeskraal Road on your left and Rosa farm stall on your right. It is the next dirt road on the right which is lined by a row of pine trees. At night you will just see an illuminated small square by the turnoff.

Dont go through the concrete pillars, the road will fork turn right. Travel all the way down. You will see a canal, red pallasade fencing and 152 Duck Cottage is the second last plot on the right. Hoot or ring us.
