Architecturally designed and delightfully comfortable, our three AA Superior Crab Apple Cottages
are set on the edge of a pristine wilderness, the Dargle Valley Conservancy.
Each thatched, self-catering cottage has a different character whilst being furnished with every comfort including underfloor heating to keep you cozy.
In the forest, life moves at a gentler pace. Generations of visitors have experienced the soul restoring reassurance that comes with being surrounded by the beauty of creation. It is filled with ancient trees and abundant birds and animals.
A place where the call of the crowned eagle and the dassie are heard, and where visits by the family of Samango monkeys are part of daily life. This is the place that inspired Austen Roberts to start his now well-known Roberts Book of Birds, and where visitors can walk the same paths and enjoy the same birdlife that he did.
Enjoy the hospitality of your hosts and experience a truly country lifestyle, complete with horses and carriages.
Hundreds of roses are a treat in Springtime and, for the more "earthy" sould, visit the organic plot where there is always something fresh to pick and eat. Experience compost making on-site.
Crab Apple Chapel
Up a steep country road, deep in the Dargle Valley in the midlands, is the large Crab Apple Chapel. Covered in ivy, it is a picture perfect country chapel. An icon in the area, it has now grown into a popular wedding chapel. The chapel seats up to 138 people on church pews.

The cottage was beautiful and they spared no expense in making it warm and cosy. Underfloor heating, electric blanket , bathroom heater , heated towel rail, fire place etc. The kitchen was very well equipped - it even had a pair of scissors. Most self catering places always neglect to provide a pair of scissors. Sadly we were there for only one night. We wished we'd booked for longer.
