The custom-built, Colonial style is nestled in a grove of indigenous trees and overlooks the Southbroom Golf Course with a view of the ocean. Six stylish, en suite bedrooms have their own private entrances and patios.

A variety of well established restaurants can be found in Southbroom and a little farther north, in the quaint towns of Ramsgate and Margate. Driving south towards Port Edward, one encounters a number of farm stalls, coffee shops and of course, The Wild Coast Sun Casino.

Weddings
Coral Tree Colony is the ideal venue for an intimate wedding celebration, just the thing for a couple looking for simplicity and warm hospitality.

Set in a secluded part of tranquil Southbroom, we are surrounded by picturesque indigenous trees and a simple, well kept garden. We can accommodate up to 50 seated guests indoors while deep verandas evoke a bygone era, bringing the outdoors in and providing flexibility in all weather conditions.

Accommodation at Coral Tree Colony Bed and Breakfast:
Each of the six en suite rooms has a king size bed, which can be converted to twin beds. A number of the rooms have a pull down single sleeper bed, suitable for a third adult, or child, to share with two adults.

The rooms all open onto large, private verandas with a view down the Southbroom Golf Course Fairways to the Indian Ocean. The beds are extra long and extremely comfortable, and are made up with 100% pure cotton Percale linen. Two of the rooms have a bath and separate shower, the other four have showers. Plenty of towels supplied and replaced on a daily basis. The rooms are serviced daily.

The six comfortable, double, en suite bedrooms are the perfect home away from home for the wedding party or a quiet getaway for the honeymoon couple. We also cater for birthday parties and corporate functions.

Activities:

Southbroom is ideally located as a base for anyone wanting to play some or all of the Golf Coast's eight superb golf courses.

Set in a sub-tropical paradise against the backdrop of an ever changing Indian Ocean, the farthest of these courses is no more than 45 minutes drive away, with Southbroom Golf Clubhouse a mere five minute stroll away.

Other area activities include fishing, kayaking, surfing, hiking and whale watching. Whale sightings between June and November have increased to such an extent that they're almost guaranteed. The annual Sardine Run, during the winter months, is another spectacle worth seeing.

Discover the exceptional birdlife and the blue duiker, endemic to this region, on two nature trails located in the village. The Riverbend Crocodile Farm is located just 2 kilometers away.

Health and Climate:

The Lower South Coast of KwaZulu Natal is a summer rainfall, sub-tropical area with lush vegetation.
Day time winter temperatures very seldom go below 17 degrees C and nighttime temperatures seldom fall below 12 degrees C.
April, May, June and July are wonderful months on this coast as the humidity levels are relatively low
and the days warm and sunny.

The hottest months are December through to March when humidity levels are high and temperatures can soar well into the 30 degrees C and above. Sea water temperatures seldom go below 20 degrees C and in summer get up to 24 or 25 degrees C.

This is a malaria-free area.

Cancellation Policy:

- 7 days or fewer, forfeit 100% of deposit
- 8 to 21 days, forfeit 50% of deposit
- 22 to 28 days, forfeit 25% of deposit
- 29 days or more, 100% refund less any banking charges incurred

Directions:

From Durban:
- Take the N2 South to Port Shepstone. At the Port Shepstone (Oribi) toll gate, stay on the toll road (N2 becomes R61).

- Go past the off ramps to Shelly Beach, Margate and Ramsgate to the traffic lights at the SOUTHBROOM NORTH turnoff at the end of the toll road.

- Turn left (towards the sea) into Southbroom Avenue and go past Churchill, College and Berea Roads - OVER THE SPEED HUMP - and then take the first road right which is Berea Road (the second one).

- The first road left off Berea is Mandy Road and Coral Tree Colony is the only house on the right in Mandy Road - on the corner of Berea, Mandy and Dale Roads.
