A Glimpse of Nature is your passport to a relaxing getaway from the city`s bustle. It is a birdwatcher`s haven and an entertainers` delight.

Just over an hours` drive north of Pretoria, a Glimpse of Nature is situated on the bank of the Pienaars River. The Pienaars River flows out of the Roodeplaat Dam towards a Glimpse of Nature once it reaches full capacity (this usually occurs in mid-Janurary)

We invite you to come and explore this exclusive bushveld that attracts a myriad of bird species and insects. Come and connect with nature, get a Glimpse of Nature, and revive yourself while experiencing the wholesome part of life!

The Farm House
The house nestles in a lush garden (season permitting) with an entertainment arena and sundowner deck to relax after a hard days` birdwatching.

The house consists of three bedrooms: Bedroom 1 is the semi-private “Green Room” and has a double bed and two single beds in it.

Bedroom 2 is the bunkers or children`s “Rock Room” and has four single beds within. There are various rock displays (hence the name “Rock Room”). Bedroom 3 is the “Private Room” with one double bed.

There is a lounge/dining room/ladies bar area that is the centre of the house and is the social hub – especially if it is raining.

The kitchen is fully equiped with 8 of everthing and a gas stove. There is unfortunately no fridge, so come prepared with your cool box or camping fridge that can run off the car!

The bathroom has a bath, shower, toilet and basin, and hot water is attainable when the donkey is prepared.

The entertainment area is adjacent to the farm house with a braai area that has a mulitude of various braaing facilities and mediums such as potjie pots (different sizes), hot box, rice pots and diffrent hot plates

Please note
- There is no commercial electricity. The lights run off batteries that are charged by a 75W solar panel

- You need to provide your own Towels, Toilet paper, Soap, Lighter/matches, Dishwashing liquid, Bags for rubbish, Wood for Braai and Hot water as well as Food and drinks (and Drinking water)

- No smoking is allowed in the house

- Water has to be used sparingly

- Birdwatching
There are reportedly approximatly 200 bird species in the area that can be found flocking to a Glimpse of Nature, especially in the wet summer months, making the area a “must-visit”!

- Star gazing
Bring your telescope and enjoy an evening on the deck with the stars, after a sumptous bushveld braai.

- Gem and mineral identification and viewing

- Tracking
A collection of wild animals roam the land, and tracking is a fun way of identifying which ones they are!

- Rust de Winter Dam
Rust de Winter Dam is a mere 30km from a Glimpse of Nature. Enjoy a day outing to this dam for a braai, some birdwatching, water skiing (or any watersport for that matter) and a tour of the area!

- Carousel
Dress up and take a night off at the glitzy Carousel! Feast in a dinner at one of the many restuarants, dabble in a gamble, watch a show or let the kids have a feast at the kids arena.
